This class is only open to active law enforcement officers. There is NO CHARGE for attending this training event. This course has been determined to qualify for 8 hours of POST (continuing or proficiency) training credit.Please join us for an outstanding training event that is being hosted by The Mesa Police Department, The Phoenix Police Sergeants and Lieutenants Association, The International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition and Investigative Consultants. This will be the largest and most extensive class ever held in Arizona dealing with trademark counterfeiting, piracy and other intellectual property crimes. The nation's leading private industry experts and law enforcement officials will be on hand conducting in depth training that will include the following topics: * Product Identification Training * The Ties to Gangs and Terrorism * How to build a case for prosecution * Local AZ criminal case studies * The Underground Economy * Resources available to law enforcement * Related Criminal Activities The attendees will receive "hands on" training from brand owners that will be present at the training on the methods of determining if an item is counterfeit or authentic. The attendees will learn about all types of goods, including golf clubs, clothing, luxury goods, perfumes, video games, music and much much more! There will also be a "reformed" counterfeiter speaking at the event to further educate the law enforcment attendees about the inner workings of counterfeiting operations and how much money these organizations can truly make. You will be amazed at what you will hear. The attendees will walk away from this class with a new understanding about these crimes and why it is so important to investigate and prosecute these matters.
