This event is being hosted by The California Narcotics Officers Association Region 6 and Investigative Consultants.

This event is open to active law enforcement officers/officials only and is FREE OF CHARGE. This is a POST approved training class. You will be required to show identification prior to entering.

The training will feature all new presentations and topics. The attendees will be taught what it takes to properly investigate Intellectual Property Crimes and other crimes related to Illicit Trade. You will hear directly from experts from the pharmaceutical, consumer goods, tobacco, entertainment, and luxury goods industries.

The attendees will learn about the Underground Economy and how these crimes negatively impact our communities. The following topics will be covered during the training:

There will be a host of leading experts on hand, who will instruct the attendees on the methods of conducting trademark counterfeiting, piracy, and tobacco investigations. They will also discuss current trends that are being seen throughout the United States and abroad. Attendees will also be trained on the methods of identifying counterfeit and illicit goods.

This class will be focused on teaching the attendees how to approach these cases with a higher level view in order to identify networks and larger players within these criminal organizations. The ultimate goal is to identify the manufacturers and major distributors of the illicit products.

Registration and product identification will begin at 0730 am. The formal presentations will start promptly at 0830 am. The class will end at 430 pm.
