Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products

Please join the Homeland Security Investigations, Philip Morris International, and Investigative Consultants to learn about the true and ever growing problem of the illicit tobacco trade!

This training class will teach the attendees about the true dangers of the illicit trade and give you an in depth view of the counterfeit issues the tobacco industry is currently dealing with.

Industry experts will be on hand to share their knowledge and expertise of the illicit trade and discuss the issues that are being seen in the United States and abroad.

The attendees will learn the importance of protecting the legitimate supply chain and the process of manufacturing and distributing legitimate tobacco.

This event will provide the attendees with the knowledge and understanding of the various laws that govern the illicit trade and how criminal organizations are using these crimes to raise large amounts of money for their organizations.

The following topics will be covered during this training event:

- How do the legitimate supply chains operate
- How to identify illicit items
- How to conduct these investigations
- Cross Border Smuggling issues
- Hidden Compartments
- How to prepare a case for prosecution
- The ties to Gangs, Organized Crime and Terrorism

The Time:
The class will start promptly at 9:00 a.m. The class will end at 12:00 p.m.

Proper identification will be required to enter the event.
